Stayed at  Medina Grand Adelaide Treasury - Adelaide, Australia.
Adelaide is a very beautiful city. We enjoyed a few days in the Barossa Valley also and will remember our South Australian holiday fondly.

Adelaide's a small and quiet city (compared to Sydney) but it's good museums(most of them free), transportation, outdoor facilities, plenty of parks, beaches near-by and easily accessible, all for family travel and to keep kids busy. Central market's a great place to shop and bargain and Barossa valley's a good place to be for wine tasting.

Very highly recommend Cafe Vagabond, O'Connell Street (road is adjacent to Hotel Adelaide International). Don't be put off by the cafe-style appearance, the chef is a genius! He has worked in Europe and has trained to the highest standards - you will not be disappointed with the food, it is simply a delicious combination of complementary flavours from beginning to end!

Adelaide a very pleasant destination and would recommend the free circle tour bus which gives excellent orientation. Hahndorf (in the Adelaide Hills) a worthwhile half-day visit with the other half spent at the nearby excellent Cleland Wildlife Park (a must for Koala cuddling). Also the tram ride to Glenelg an essential trip.

Bassora valley with wine tasting... interesting and festive. Some good restaurants close to the hotel, of which Fasta Pasta with a very good report/ratio price quality.

A visit (or two) to the Barossa Valley is a must. We heartily recommend Premier Stateliner's day trip: competitive price made even more competitive by reductions for pensioners. The included lunch at Yaldara Wines was one of the best meals of the entire holiday. The wines weren't bad, either!

Stayed at  Grand Mercure Mount Lofty House - Adelaide, Australia.
Visiting Adelaide - its got to be the vineyards. Great visits to Penfolds at Magill, Coriole and D'Arenburg at McLaren Vale with samples resulting in some lovely red and a nice port being bought. A visit to the leathershop in Hahndorf is recommended and the blokes out there - a visit to the National Car Museum is only 30 - 40 minutes away.

Do not forget to take the tram to go to the beach. The tram takes you from Victoria square directly to the beach where you can swimm, eat, drink, walk, etc.

I was there for a convention so was basically just in the convention centre. Amalfie Italian restaurant was recommneded by the hotel and was excellent and jam packed.
