Got there from the Arlanda airport by train + taxi cab (all prices are reasonable). Restaurant "LE RICHE" is to recommend (same street as the hotel). The Royal Palace (Kunglia Slottet) is the main attraction to recommend, then the Army Museum was great to visit too, as well as the Treasury of the Royal Crown at the Royal Palace.

Being a Plant Scientist I visited the Linneus sites. The Tradgarden is particularly convenient, you can get into it directly from the hotel.

Stockholm in the summer is a marvellous destination. The city is very elegant, scattered over numerous islands, with superb old buildings and lots of interesting things to see and do. Not to be missed is the Vasa Museum! Other good places to visit are City Hall (of Nobel Prize fame, with a great view from the top of the tower), the Royal Palace and the open-air museum of Skansen. We also went on day trips to the lovely Drottningholm Palace and Theatre (by boat) and to Uppsala and Sigtuna (by train and coach). We spent the long warm evenings dining outdoors or sitting by the lakeside. It was a most delightful holiday, with just one drawback: Prices are very high, especially for alcoholic drinks.
